Gatlinburg White Water Rafting Adventure

Are you planning to do some white water rafting near Gatlinburg? If so, we hope you will choose Rip Roaring Adventures Whitewater Rafting to take you on your Gatlinburg rafting trip.

Our whitewater rafting in Gatlinburg is divided into two classifications based on their difficulty level.

  • Upper Pigeon River Whitewater Rafting - This expedition runs for about six and a half miles. The passengers must be eight years old and above, or must weigh at least 70 lbs. Although no previous rafting experience is required for this trip, it is considered more challenging and exciting than the lower Gatlinburg rafting trip, because you will be continually running through class I to IV rapids.
  • Lower Pigeon River Whitewater Rafting - This five-mile trip is perfect for families with small children and rafting rookies who aren't ready to take on big rapids. This trip consists of class I to II rapids and plenty of time for a refreshing swim. It lasts for approximately two hours and the age requirement is three years old and above.

At Rip Roaring Adventures Whitewater Rafting, we specialize in Gatlinburg white water rafting. Whether you want to take a trip on the lower Pigeon River or the upper Pigeon River, we are certain to have a trip to suit your needs.

When planning your whitewater rafting vacation, however, keep in mind that the Pigeon River is a dam controlled river. Therefore, we only offer our whitewater rafting trips on those days when the river has been released.

Whitewater trips on the upper river are normally offered on the following days and times:

  • May: 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
  • June: 11:30 am, 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays
  • July and August: 11:30 am, 12:30 pm, 2:00 pm, 3:00 pm, 4:00 pm and 5:00 pm on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays

Gatlinburg white water rafting trips are generally offered on the lower river on the following days and times:
